Tutorial: Pink Leopard

I was inspired to do this design by the nail art sticker pattern I tried out on my nails a few days ago. I had done leopard print nail designs before, but this was the first time I tried doing it in pink, and it turned out quite nice!

This technique can easily be used on hands as well as toe nails. The best part about it–it’s super easy to do as animal prints are nautrally random and messy, so you don’t have to be precise.

As for color, I used three shades of pink, but you can have fun with it and try out any three colors of your choice  😉

The items I used for the design are:

– base and top coat by OPI

– light pink (210 Just Married by Catrice)

– medim rosy pink (Get a Rose 4 Me by H&M)

– bright fuchsia pink (210 by Hema)

– small dotting tool

Begin with a layer of base coat on your nails. When that is dry, apply the medium pink color.

Next, take the light pink color and make several random dots on your nails. The dots can be of arbitrary shape and size, so have fun and don’t worry about making a mistake! It’s impossible to make mistakes with this design 😉

This may take a while to dry as the dots will be more blob-like when applied with the brush, so grab a book for 15 minutes 😉

Next, take a piece of scrap paper and dropa a bit of the bright-fuchsia color on it. Take the smallest dotting tool you have and start creating c-shaped arcs around the light pink spots. Make one or two arcs per dot. Also, place a few random dots between the spots, for a wilder effect.

Next, wait another 10-15 minutes before the design is completely dry (how’s that book going?), then add a top coat and you’re done!

The Pink Panther has a rival now 😉 XOXO
